The Safari Rail travel guide

Collecting your SGR ticket before boarding

Understand the booking message, ticket printing and the help available before departure.

Your booking message is the starting point

After your ticket has been booked, Safari Rail sends your booking details through the contact channel agreed with you. Keep the M-Pesa booking message and ticket number available for ticket collection.

A booking request reference is different from a confirmed train ticket. If you have only submitted the form, wait for availability, payment instructions and confirmation that your ticket has been issued.

Arrange ticket printing before you travel

Our booking process includes guidance on printing your physical ticket at the station. Follow the instructions sent with your booking details and allow time for collection before boarding.

When station access and timing permit, we may help pre-print tickets and arrange a handover. This support is subject to confirmation. If no handover has been agreed, plan to collect your ticket at the station.

Check the passenger details

Review the name, identification details, journey and date on your booking. Contact us promptly if anything looks wrong. Bring the identification document used to make the booking.

Keep your ticket and booking information private. If you need support, use the WhatsApp number or email published on this website.

Changes and cancellations

Kenya Railways controls its ticket-change and cancellation rules. Safari Rail does not promise a refund or a change of departure. Check the current official guidance and speak to the station or Kenya Railways about the applicable process.

If you are unsure whether a message confirms your ticket, contact us before making another payment or starting your journey.
